Hi Charleen, Trifexis covers a pet against heartworms, certain intestinal parasites, and fleas. It will not protect against ticks. If you are concerned about ticks or if your pet will be exposed to areas where ticks like to live, I recommend that you call and talk to your local vet about tick prevention. The product that will be best will depend on your pet’s age, breed, weight, overall health, and the environment that he will be exposed to. Your vet knows your pet and the local area and they can recommend the product that will be best.
