• Hi, Both my dogs had bloodwork on 11/15 and after I reviewed it, they both had elevations in ALT and bilirubin levels. These levels were previously normal 6 months prior. Was the lab test inaccurate or could it be the dog food which we changed about 4 months ago? We are now giving them Taste of the Wild from Hollywood Feed. Thank you! I just want to make sure their livers are ok. Sarah

    Hi Sarah,
I recommend that you call and talk to your local veterinarian about this question. You are correct that these values can be from liver issues but there can be other causes as well. The significance of the elevations in these tests will depend on the actual values and your pet’ overall health. Your vet knows your pets and they can give you the best advice on what these values mean in your individual pets.
