• Hello; My dog ate her poop. Now she has been dry heaving for around an hour. Should I take her in to see the vet?

    Hi Ashley,
If the dry heaving has continued, I recommend that you take her into see a veterinarian as soon as possible if you have not already done so. Dry heaving for as long as you are describing is concerning and could become a serious medical issue as this can potentially damage the esophagus or throat. This could also be caused by something serious including a foreign body in the throat. Your vet can talk to you more about the cause of her symptoms after they have examined her. They may recommend some lab tests and/or x-rays to help diagnose or rule out certain diseases. The treatment that she needs will depend on the underlying cause and severity of her symptoms.
