  • About a week ago we got a new kitten, and yesterday I noticed Patches who i've had for a little over a year now is meowing differently, more low and doesnt come out clear like his usual meow. I'm not sure if its a big concern or maybe he got something from the kitten but the kitten seems fine he runs around and plays. he was found by a friend be side the road and we kept him got his first shots and treatments. He does have a low quiet meow as well.

    Hi Samantha,
If these symptoms continue for more than a couple of days or if you see any other symptoms like not wanting to eat, lethargy, coughing, sneezing, or vomiting I recommend that you take Patches into see a veterinarian. The change in meowing can be from an upper respiratory infection but there can be other causes as well. Your vet can talk to you more about the cause of this and any treatment that he needs after they have examined him.
