Dr. Lourdes Salinas received her B.S. degree in animal science from Iowa State and her DVM degree in 1997. She then moved from the cold weather to Puerto Rico and worked in a small animal private practice doing preventive care, medicine, surgery, and emergency medicine. She later owned a small animal practice and participated in a veterinary technician program where she lectured on animal anatomy and physiology and general technologist skills until 2014 when she moved to Florida with her family and joined Banfield. Dr. Salinas is a "soccer mom" and spends a lot of time watching games, going to the beach and riding jet skis, watching her daughter ice skate, and taking care of her pets.
