Dr. Penton was born in Massachusetts but spent most of her childhood in northeast Ohio with dogs, cats, and her off-the-track thoroughbred. She earned her B.A. in biochemistry from Hiram College, where she spent summers participating in an endangered species research project and volunteering at various large and small animal clinics. Following her undergraduate studies, Dr. Penton attended The Ohio State University to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. Her husband's postdoctoral studies brought them to Tucson in 2013 and they've enjoyed the Arizona sunshine ever since. They share their home with a retired racing greyhound, two Italian greyhounds, a terrier mix, and various pocket pets. Her clinical interests include behavioral medicine, the human-animal bond, dentistry, and internal medicine.
