Dr. Wischmann joined Banfield in 2011. She grew up in nearby South County until attending Truman State University for her double undergraduate degree in biology. After interning at a Big Cat Sanctuary in Arkansas, some graduate school in New Mexico, and shelter work back in Saint Louis, she thought it time to attend veterinary school. She graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2011. Her fourth year she received the H. Richard Adams Scholarship in Veterinary Medicine for demonstrating exceptional interest and understanding of the human-animal bond, which remains her favorite part of her job. Her specific interests include managing aging pets, canine and feline dentistry, and internal medicine. She loves to spend her free time with her husband, Derek, daughter, Hazel, son, Walter, Hannah the cat, 2 bunnies, and 2 birds.
