Dr. West grew up in Livermore, CA and attended UC Davis to complete undergraduate degrees in animal science, as well as neurobiology, physiology, and behavior in 2003. He completed his master’s degree in immunology in 2007 at UC Davis. Dr. West was then accepted into the dual PhD and DVM program at UC Davis where he pursued doctorate research work in comparative pathology studying the effects of the immune cells in traumatic brain injury. In veterinary medicine, Dr. West is widely skilled with an emphasis in surgery, dentistry, dermatology, preventive care, and internal medicine. He has 3 energetic boys that he loves to wrestle with and take outdoors for hiking and camping. He also has 2 well behaved Chihuahuas, Zoe and Lucy, and a beagle named Daisy that likes to get into mischief. He is an avid DIY home improver from bathroom remodeling to landscaping. In his spare time, Dr. West enjoys his classic car hobby restoring his 1955 Studebakers.
