Dr. Díaz-Meléndez received her Bachelor of Science degree in veterinary technology from the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus in 2000. She moved to the United States and worked as a LVT at Tuskegee University Small Animal Teaching Hospital for two years before applying to their veterinary school. After graduating from Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2006, she moved to Houston, Texas where she practiced her first three years. In 2009, she began working as a relief veterinarian in the Dallas area. In 2011, she joined VitalPet Story Road Animal Hospital in Irving, Texas until 2016 when she took a break from private practice to stay home with her kids. In 2018, she returned to the practice by joining. She is married to her husband, Héctor, and has two boys and a dog, Marien. In her spare time, she enjoys, running, reading, and watching her boys playing sports.
