Dr. Heotis attended Binghamton University in New York for her undergraduate degree in biology. After spending a semester doing study abroad in Perth, Australia in 2002, she returned to pursue her veterinary degree at Murdoch University in 2003. After spending 5 years in Western Australia, Dr. Heotis completed her studies and decided to return to the U.S. to start her career in small-animal veterinary medicine. Dr. Heotis started her career with Banfield in 2008 after moving from New York to Colorado. She wanted to enjoy the more laid-back lifestyle she had come to love while living in Perth. She now lives with her 11-year-old border collie, Barney, who she refers to as her soul-dog and her 4-year-old tabby cat, Achilles.
