Dr. Barber grew up in Warrensburg, MO before going to K-State University to start her undergraduate degree. While at K-State, she was given the opportunity to travel to New Zealand for a study abroad year. Dr. Barber fell in love with New Zealand and choose to finish her bachelor's degree in animal science as well as complete her veterinary degree while there. She lived and studied in New Zealand for 7 years before returning to Missouri, and has practiced small animal and emergency medicine in the area for about 5 years. Dr. Barber enjoys seeing not only cats and dogs but pocket pets and reptiles as well. She lives in Joplin with her boyfriend, 4 dogs, and 2 cats, and enjoys reading, hiking, camping, fishing and traveling in her free time.
