Dr. Steenhard started with Banfield in early 2012. Though born and raised in California, she attended veterinary school at the University of Sydney in Australia. Her love of travel took her to New Zealand on a study abroad adventure, which eventually lead her to pursue more fun in Australia. She moved there after finishing her animal science degree at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Australia was amazing, not only for the degree she obtained, but also for the amazing friends and experiences she gained while she was there. She volunteered at the Taronga Zoo, learned about Australian wildlife, and raptor bird rehabilitation. Lucky enough to meet her husband after arriving, their first two children were born in Australia. Her interests include internal medicine, diagnostic imaging, and endocrinology. When at home she and husband are kept busy with their three children, and their dog named Rookie. They enjoy games, singing, dancing, and outside play. As an adventurer, she is always happy to travel and explore.
