Dr. Esquivel grew up on a ranch near the Pecos River in Dexter, NM. At the age of six, she knew she wanted to be a veterinarian. Dr. Esquivel attended Colorado State University to complete her bachelor’s degree in equine sciences as well as her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. In 2005, she joined the Banfield team as a veterinary student in the summer job program. Dr. Esquivel moved back to New Mexico and began working with the hospital team at Albuquerque in May 2008 as an associate veterinarian. Her medical interests include preventive care, soft tissue surgery, and dentistry. With a special interest in integrative veterinary medicine, she holds certifications in both veterinary medical acupuncture and canine physical rehabilitation. Dr. Esquivel enjoys spending time at home with her husband, working in the garden and taking care of her dogs, cats, chickens, and horses.
