When catastrophic flood waters hit Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in 2016, it pushed many stray animals from the surrounding woods into the crowded city limits. Stewart and his three-month-old siblings were found under an abandoned house, but a $10,000 Disaster Relief Grant to Acadiana Animal Aid ensured these dogs – and many more – could be transported to safety during a tumultuous time.

One of these safe places was a foster home with Elizabeth, an employee at Acadiana, who eventually decided Stewart should be a permanent member of her family. A lucky ending for a lucky dog!
