A Safe Home for Pets and People
In 2018, Angelo summoned the courage to leave an abusive relationship. That decision left her homeless and in danger of being separated from her dog, Frankie. Animal Protective Association of Missouri (APA) stepped in to make a difference. APA was able to take care of Frankie until Angelo was able to find a home and get back on her feet.
Being a victim of domestic violence is tragic enough on its own, but also having to worry about the safety of a pet makes it that much more painful. An $8,000 grant from the Banfield Foundation helps fund APA’s SafeCare program and keep pets and their people together.
