Banfield Unveils the Most Clever Star Wars-Inspired Pet Names

Marking the fourth (force) of the month, Banfield Pet Hospital is unveiling the top pet names inspired by George Lucas’ iconic “Star Wars” universe. As the largest veterinary practice in the world, Banfield and its internal research team, Banfield Applied Research & Knowledge (BARK), pulled from its extensive database of nearly 2.9 million pet patients to identify the most popular names as well as the practice’s selections for the most creative names.

When it comes to cats and dogs, Chewy is the most popular Star Wars character, with everyone’s favorite Wookiee representing nearly 3,500 pets. While most of the top five names represent rebel heroes, pet owners turned to the dark side for the fifth most popular name, Vader. It is worth noting that the nemesis of many Star Wars fans, Jar Jar Binks, has also inspired 17 pets named “Jar Jar.”
