Banfield Appoints New CIO and Senior VP of Information Technology

Banfield Pet Hospital, the world’s largest veterinary practice, has named Anne Murphy chief information officer and senior vice president of information technology. In her new role, Murphy will direct all aspects of IT, including support and technical services, network/telecom, software development and systems.
“Anne’s breadth of experience and proven track record of innovative and collaborative partnerships makes her the right person to keep Banfield at the forefront of pet health technology and informatics,” said Vincent Bradley, president and chief executive officer (CEO) for Banfield. “This includes PetWare®, our proprietary software used to serve the millions of pets cared for in our hospitals.”
Murphy brings more than 30 years of experience in business operations and technology to her new role. Prior to joining Banfield, Murphy was vice president of support and operations at Target Corporation, where she led a global team and was responsible for the operational health and stability of the company's technology.
“Banfield has been a leader in pet health technology and I look forward to continue cultivating a strong technology community with the organization,” Murphy said. “I’m excited to join Banfield in their mission of making a better world for pets.”
Murphy holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Metropolitan State University and an MBA from University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. She also has served her community for a number of nonprofits, including Habitat for Humanity.
