Being a great veterinary professional means continually learning new techniques, medicines and technologies. During the formative years, Banfield professionals benefit from the support of experienced practitioners. More experienced professionals can grow and expand their training, expertise and breadth of knowledge. Learn more about our many learning programs below:
Banfield Learning Center
As a Banfield veterinarian, you'll have unlimited access to Banfield's unique online learning and development tool: the Banfield Learning Center (BLC). The BLC contains a variety of courses designed for your continued professional development, and you'll be able to set your own pace and choose courses that are most relevant to your professional goals.
New Doctor Academy
Doctors new to Banfield have the opportunity to attend a unique three-day orientation at Central Team Support (CTS), our practice headquarters in Portland, Oregon. They are introduced to our culture and processes and have the opportunity to network with other veterinarians new to the practice. In addition, they also get to see firsthand the team of professionals at CTS who support their hospitals.
Banfield works in partnership with the veterinary community and shares key findings with veterinarians all over the world at national veterinary conferences like the North American Veterinary Conference (NAVC), Western Veterinary Conference (WVC), Student American Veterinary Medical Association (SAVMA), American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) Convention and National Association of Veterinary Technicians of America (NAVTA) Annual Conference.
We also attend many local and regional conferences and invite all veterinary professionals to look for Banfield lectures in the registration information of conferences to see if we are there sharing our research findings.
All veterinary professionals working at Banfield hospitals have access to SmartHelp – Banfield’s own online library and data resource tool. SmartHelp contains a variety of information designed to keep veterinary professionals abreast of the latest diagnostic research, advanced treatment techniques, pharmaceutical breakthroughs and more.
To help Banfield veterinarians achieve their goals, we offer support for veterinarians pursuing board certification. In addition, for those doctors interested in leadership and growth, we offer our own Chief of Staff certification.
