    Dr. Rebecca Houck

    Chief of Staff

    Dr. Rebecca Houck graduated from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. Shortly after, she joined Banfield Pet Hospital in Houston, Texas and practiced veterinary medicine for four years before moving to Roanoke, Virginia. Once in Roanoke, she was promoted to Lead Doctor and then to Chief of Staff in 2011. Her interests include dermatology and animal behavior, and one day she'd like to become boarded in one or both disciplines. More Details >>

    Dr. Amber Lee


    Prior to joining the Banfield Roanoke team, Dr. Lee was an Associate Veterinarian at Banfield of Arundel Mills, Maryland. She is a 2013 graduate of VMRCVM (Virginia Tech), and her areas of interest in veterinary medicine include preventive care and behavior. When not at the hospital, she enjoys cooking, baking, and hiking. She lives in Blacksburg with her husband and toy poodle. More Details >>

    Julie Sanborn

    Practice Manager

    Julie grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and moved to Blacksburg to earn her Bachelor of Science degree in animal science from Virginia Tech. She later went back to school to earn her Bachelor of Science degree in veterinary technology, so that she could be boarded as a Licensed Veterinary Technician. After going back to school, Julie practiced in specialty and emergency medicine for several years, before joining the Banfield team in Roanoke in 2015. When she is not enjoying the company of all of her patients at work, Julie enjoys playing outside with her two dogs, Dank and Kaya. They enjoy gardening, hiking, camping, kayaking, fishing, and exploring the great outdoors any way they can! More Details >>

    Dr. Virginia Edwards


    Dr. Edwards knew she wanted to be a veterinarian since she was a little girl. Once she became a veterinarian, she began expanding her skill set to include emergency, high volume spay/neuter, shelter medicine and primary care. She volunteers regularly with the Veterinary Teaching Hospital in Blacksburg, teaching the sophomores and junior students surgical principles. Outside of work, she is an amateur bluegrass singer and has recently started taking mandolin lessons. She also enjoys spending time with her husband and their dogs, Aeris (a pit bull rescue) and Midnight (a DSH rescue), hiking, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, bicycling and camping. More Details >>
