Dr. Merinda McGrath
Chief of Staff
I am Dr. Merinda (aka Rindi) McGrath. I have lived in Olympia since 1988 and graduated from Washington State University with my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. Prior to living here I resided near Portland. As a toddler I lived on a rural cattle ranch in Costa Rica. Currently my husband, our four year old son and I live on a farm where we raise bison. We also have two horses, two goats and numerous stray cats who adopted us. When I am not working, I enjoy knitting, quilting, reading, traveling and spending time with my family. I have been working for Banfield since I graduated at this location, and I am currently the chief of staff.

Dr. Dr.Shea L. Miller
I'm Dr. Shea L. Miller. I graduated from Washington State University School of Vererniray Medicine in May 2009. Even though I have been a veterinarian for only three years, I have been in the field of veterinary medicine for over 13 years. I worked my way up from volunteering and left as head veterinary assistant to start a career in veterinary medicine. I am married to Jason Miller. We live in a beautiful location on Hendersen Inlet with10 cats, two dogs and some fish. I love meeting new clients and their pets. I especially like it when clients call me "Doc". Being able to be part of the pet’s lives from puppies or kittens until they are adults is fantastic! Veterinary medicine provides me the opportunity to lean and teach making each day exciting and challenging. I work with the most awesome team, which makes coming to work every day the best!
Dr. Amy Joynt
My name is Dr. Amy Joynt, and I have been at the Lacey Banfield Pet Hospital since late summer 2011. I grew up in Port Orchard, WA. I have degrees from both Washington State University and the University of Washington. Before deciding to go back to school to become a veterinarian, I was volunteering at Seattle Animal Control and the Woodland Park Zoo. I used to joke that I would be a lawyer and retire as a veterinarian, but the day that I received my first acceptance letter to law school was the day I decided to admit to myself that I really needed to be a veterinarian! So I became a veterinary assistant, started over with college to get all of the pre-requisite courses and became a WSU College of Veterinary Medicine graduate! I live in Lacey with two cats, and enjoy a variety of crafts and gardening.
Dr. Hyun Ju Kim
I was born and raised in South Korea, and in 2007 I received my DVM degree from Chungbuk National University in Cheongju, South Korea. My dream is to practice in the United States where there is such a loving culture for companion animals. I moved to the United States in 2008 to chase my dream and obtain my Washington State License in 2011. I love that every day I get to interact with people and pets. Being a veterinarian brings great challenges, but also tremendous rewards. I have two affectionate and attentive Pomeranians who keep me busy when I am not at work. I also enjoy hiking, swimming and spending time with my husband who is in the US Army. I am very proud to be a member of the wonderful Lacey team!
