Dr. Amanda Maijer joined the Banfield team in 2016. She attended Ross University and graduated in 2016 with a doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Maijer enjoys working for Banfield as a Veterinarian and takes pride in surgery, anesthesia, and advanced wound care. Dr. Maijer has 2 pets: 2 border collies. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, fishing, home improvement, and spending time with her husband, Aaron, and 3 babies: Brady, Savannah and Soren. They love playing fetch and hiking with their two border collies: Gillie and Minnow. Dr. Maijer has lived in Edina on-and-off her entire life and loves working within the community. She volunteers for a non-profit called Cradle of Hope that helps underprivileged families provide for and care for their children, and she briefly lived in Namibia, Africa rehabilitating cheetahs. Dr. Maijer passionately believes in Banfield’s mission — creating a better world for pets — by bridging the gap in understanding and communication between human and animal medicine.
