Alexandria Sheppard, DVM

Veterinarian

member image

Dr. Sheppard graduated from St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine. Born and raised in sweet home Alabama, she decided to pursue her education over 2000 miles away in Grenada, West Indies. She enjoyed her time on this little island while completing a dual degree program in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and Public Health (MPH). With a true passion for “One Health, One Medicine,” Dr. Sheppard believes that the human-animal bond is not only wonderful for our mental health but is also critical for better preventative care for pets leading to the prevention of zoonotic diseases. Dr. Sheppard has worked as a general practitioner at Banfield Pet Hospital since 2021, with professional interests in geriatric medicine, palliative/hospice care, and all things dermatology. One of her favorite aspects of being a veterinarian is being able to form trusting relationships with clients and their fur babies to ensure that everyone feels like family. Outside of the clinic, you will likely find her nose in a book or trying out a new recipe or project from Pinterest.
