What does my hamster like to play with?
Hamster’s teeth grow constantly, so they need to gnaw in order to keep their teeth from growing too long. Providing your pet with enough toys to gnaw on will help them stay happy and healthy. The gnawing toys can be anything from wood blocks to fruit-flavored chew toys and even scrapped cardboard.
Hamsters also like to burrow and tunnel. It’s a natural instinct, so providing opportunity to do that will greatly increase your hamster’s quality of life. Ladders, tubes, and hideaway spots allow ample opportunity for your hamster to run and burrow- it’s also fun to watch!
All of our pets need ample exercise to live a happy and healthy life. A hamster’s cage is typically pretty small, so we need to get creative when it comes to exercise. Hamster wheels are a great option to include in your hamster’s cage because they need to run daily, and they easily fit in hamster cages. You can also get your little pet an exercise ball and allow them the freedom to run and exercise throughout the house or yard. Be sure to keep an eye on them and limit the use of the exercise ball, too much running without access to water can dehydrate your hamster.
