Hospital Associates

As an associate in our hospitals, you will be on the frontlines of our business and the face of our veterinary practice, therefore you’ll enjoy the best of both worlds – providing pet medical care at the highest level, while having the strength and support of thousands behind you every step of the way.

One key prerequisite for associates on our veterinary hospital teams is a commitment to partnering with our clients to provide the highest level of medical care to their pets. Our veterinary hospital teams deliver exceptional client experiences in the following positions:

Client Service Coordinator

The client service coordinator cordially greets pets and their people, schedules appointments, provides home care instructions, places care calls, processes billings and collects payments. The client service coordinator is also critical in briefing the medical team of incoming emergencies and ensuring that exam rooms are clean and ready for the next patient. Client service coordinators are Banfield’s public relations ambassadors, as they provide clients with the first and last impression of our practice.

Pet Care Assistant

This entry‐level position is an excellent way for those considering a career in veterinary medicine to develop basic pet medical-care skills. Our pet care assistants perform a variety of pet-health duties and have a compassionate commitment to pet care.

Veterinary Assistant/Veterinary Technician

The veterinary assistants and veterinary technicians support the veterinarian to ensure quality veterinary care for all pets. Veterinary assistants/technicians maintain medical charts, complete preparatory procedures for veterinarians and ensure that pets and their people are comfortable in the hospital. You will act as the extra eyes, ears and hands for the veterinarian to ensure the best quality pet care and to maximize the veterinarian's productivity.  In accordance with their state’s veterinary practice act, credentialed veterinary technicians will perform additional medical procedures as needed in their hospital.

Practice Manager

As a practice manager, you will work with the hospital’s medical leader to ensure our clients receive the highest quality medical care and service. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining good relationships with associates, field leadership, Central Team Support and PetSmart, as well as selecting, training and supervising the client service and veterinary health care teams.

Knowledge is powerful, but the real opportunity to effect change comes from sharing knowledge and facilitating its application. Even small improvements, when spread over a large enough population, can have a profound impact on health.
