Banfield Shelter Advisory Board
Comprised of shelter community representatives, the Banfield Shelter Advisory Board provides insight into the shelter community. Together, members identify shelter challenges and trends and discuss how Banfield’s current and future program can further improve pets’ lives and preserve families.
Shelter Advisory Board initiatives have included:
- Pet Adoption Rewards Program
- Banfield Learning Center’s Shelter 101 course
- Online continuing education for Banfield associates also available to shelters and rescues for staff and volunteers
- An overview of the history and types of shelters
- Illustration of differences between shelter medicine and private veterinary practice
- Early spay-neuter messaging incorporated into all relevant pieces
